The CRX Liberty Integration System, designed by service technicians, kept in mind that the integration of the R200 to the AMX-4 MUST NOT compromise the serviceability of existing components.

A GREAT deal of thought and design was given to the serviceability of the integrated CR reader and the AMX-4 components.

-The hinged rubber mounted CR reader has a fold down electronics drawer
-The AMX-4 has slide out electronics and a detachable battery drawer completely accessible without the need of tools

Service Technicians will appreciate the thought put forth to make maintenance easy.

Cost Comparison
In these difficult economic times reimbursement rates are getting smaller. As a budget minded administrator you must question whether or not DR is the best option for portable radiology.

MetriScan - New Equipment

MetriScan from Alara, Inc...

. . . was developed as a front line diagnostic tool to help physicians detect osteoporotic bone loss. MetriScan is a self-contained desktop peripheral scanner that brings the power of osteoporosis screening into the primary care arena. For the first time in your office, you can screen for one of they key risk factors of osteoporotic fractures – low bone mineral density (BDM). And you can perform the test as quickly and easily as you currently check blood pressure.

Osteoporosis – the under diagnosed disease.

The results of a recent JAMA study involving over 200,000 postmenopausal women over age 50 point to an urgent need for in-office screening for low bone mineral density (BMD). The three year JAMA study found osteoporosis woefully underdiagnosed by primary care physicians.

Lack of diagnosis and the correlation between low BMD and fracture have serious implications for the over-50 menopausal women. Clinically low BMD is directly linked to an increased risk of fracture within one year of diagnosis. And while over-50 women are the most underdiagnosed group for low BMD, many of your patients both male and female, currently can and will suffer the same BMD-related fractures.

MetriScan can change all that with a simple two minute procedure.

You can estimate a patient’s bone density during a routine check-up.

The Alara MetriScan system estimates bone density by taking a radiographic aborptiometry scan of the patient’s hand. In no more than two minutes, MetriScan estimates the phalangeal bone density of the patient’s three middle fingers. MetriScan compares the patient’s BMD against the average estimated bone density of a healthy young adult female Caucasian population (T-score) and an age-matched healthy population of the patient’s gender and ethnicity (Z-score). With the patient’s data in the system, MetriScan then calculates the patient’s T and Z scores and prints the test results for your analysis.

Early detection allows better treatment.

When your in-office routine involves testing at-risk patients, you’ll be better able to detect and treat low BMD before an osteoporotic fracture occurs. With the variety of FDA-approved therapies for the treatment of osteoporosis, your at-risk patient population could have a far lower risk of disabling bone fractures. This early detection device also allows you to monitor the effectiveness of your prescribed course of osteoporosis treatment. From the very first scan of your patient’s fingers, Alara MetriScan provides the data you need to better treat your patients.

The Alara MetriScan Bone Density System gives you the power to screen patients at risk for osteoporosis – while they’re in your office.

In a recent independent study of fourteen different methods of osteoporosis bone density testing, radiographic absorptiometry of the phalanges correlated with other measures as well as or better than any other measurement.

MetriScan features include:

  • Less than one second scan

  • Radiation dose less than 5% of dental x-ray

  • Total clinical precision error = 1% vs. ultrasound systems (1.5% - 2.0%)

  • No gel or patient preparation required

  • Automatic calibration check

  • Small footprint: 16” x 16”

Scanning has been mandated a reimbursable expense.

Since the passage of the Bone Mass Measurement Act of 1997, Medicare coverage of biannual bone density testing has made testing a more affordable and more effective treatment option for your at-risk patient population. Medicare and most private insurers cover biannual bone density testing for the following patients:

  • Estrogen deficient women at risk for osteoporosis

  • Men or women with vertebral abnormalities indicative of osteoporosis

  • Men or women receiving long term steroid therapy

  • Men or women with primary hyperparathyroidism

  • Men or women being monitored to assess the response to osteoporosis drug therapy

MetriScan screening will become routine for your staff.

After a brief in-office tutorial, a practitioner can easily begin MetriScan screening of patients. It’s a self-contained desktop unit, with an intuitive interface that makes it easy for staff to input basic patient data. Unlike other screening systems that require messy gels or cumbersome equipment, the Alara MetriScan is easy to administer. It’s also painless for the patient, takes up minimal office space and exposes patients to minimal radiation.

When is comes to detecting low bone mineral density and preventing osteoporotic fractures, early detection is in your hands.

Quality Control Testing

All MIM systems are configured to your specifications and tested on
our in-house ethernet network.

The MIM 9410 and MIM 200 Image Acquisition Systems are flexible
and modular, having no monitor, keyboard, or mouse. Used as a
Modality Server which can capture images from up to three directly
connected Digital or Video modalities, converting the image data to
DICOM and sending the images to a network destination of choice
for printing, or used as a Print Server which receives DICOM images
from an Ethernet network that the Print Server continuously monitors

and automatically captures images addressed to it. After the images
are formatted they are then sent to a designated DICOM compliant
network printer. This is all accomplished without operator intervention.

Control is Easy
Operator uses host control devices or optional keypads to capture, format, and print images. The touch screen keypad gives the operator many options such as print, store, sequential store, erase, copies, stop print, format, etc. For images that are received faster than the printer can print, both MIM systems will store the images in memory until they can be printed, thus increasing work flow and productivity.

Processors

M6B 90 Second Film Processor

Used for General Radiography and with upgrades, can also be used for Mammography. This versatile processor can be a standalone or docked to a mutliloader. It’s easy to use, maintain, and delivers high quality 90-second processing. The M6B has become our flagship film processor in recent years for good reason.

Control Is Easy
With the on board electronics that controls a variety of essential system controls, your engineer has many adjustment options that can simply be made by following the OEM adjustment procedures of the 100 Board in the electronics box.

Ease Of Use And Installation
The ease of use and install was well designed, a internal audible alarm to signify it’s
ok to feed another film. A digital display reflects the current developer temperature,
and with the push of a control panel mounted button you can check the replenishment
rates. A integrated standby control puts the processor in a idle state when films are not
being processed, but the processor still maintains chemistry temperature, and saves
unnecessary wear on moving parts, at the same time saves on energy and water
consumption. The dedicated developer, fixer, and wash drains help meet environmental
codes. A fixer diverter valve feature that makes it possible for fixer effluent to be directed
to silver recovery equipment. With a built in anti-siphoning device and the use of ambient
temperature wash water , there is no hot water plumbing or a thermostatic mixing valve necessary.

Quality Images
The electronically controlled temperature sensing system uses thermostats, heaters, heat exchangers, and potentiometers to control the developer, fixer, and dryer temperature. Optional flooded replenishment rate help maintain chemistry in low volume sites. A system that controls itself, and gives you options, getting consistent quality radiographs has never been easier, no matter what your particular needs may be.
